This was my first time seeing and photographing the very interesting Limpkin. I was lucky enough to have a pair of them start feeding right in front of me in the gorgeous afternoon Florida sun. They were very good at finding these shellfish and every few attempts one would come up with one in its beak. After finding the shell they would take it to the shoreline and pound on it with their beak until they opened it. They are a somewhat odd bird but it was really neat to watch the feeding behavior. Taken in Fellsmere Florida.
